PALS Online Course Heartcode – Updated to reflect science in the 2010 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC, HeartCode® PALS Part 1 is the official web-based, self-directed, comprehensive e-learning program from the American Heart Association (AHA). It teaches healthcare providers knowledge and skills needed to recognize and prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children. Busy healthcare providers often need an alternative to traditional, classroom-based PALS training. After completing HeartCode PALS Part 1, students must successfully complete a hands-on skills practice and testing session (parts 2 and 3) with an AHA PALS Instructor, which may be completed at Code 3 Life Support Education’s Pasadena or Camarillo Training Sites. The skills session is a one on one appointment with the instructor. In part 1, Students complete an interactive, cognitive portion that includes 12 realistic patient microsimulation scenarios covering pediatric patients, a team dynamics lesson, recognition and management of sick children. Once the student has successfully completed their online course they may take their skills test. Students will receive an AHA PALS course completion card, valid for two years, upon successful completion of all three parts. The online course will only work with PC’s and not MAC’s. Benefits.
